The Charity’s objectives are to promote any charitable purposes for the benefit of orphans or young people in need, hardship or distress throughout the world and in particular the advancement of education, the preservation of health and relief of poverty distress and sickness.
Miss Maria Jacobsen, a missionary from Denmark, saved many children orphaned in the Middle East as a result of the First World War from starvation and disease. In 1928 she founded the Birds’ Nest Orphanage in Byblos, Lebanon.
